Blood Gas Analyzers and Point-of-Care Testing

The ACT measures the time to clot formation in seconds. The ACT analyzer should be cooled to 32°C prior to running the sample. Dilution of the blood sample has minimal effect on the results of the ACT. All ACT analyzers are standardized, so values from one manufacturer can be compared to values from another manufacturer.
